What exactly is

House of Commons Petition E-7319?

House of Commons Petition E-7319 is a national call to action directed at the Federal Government on three critical fronts:

  1. 1
That it take immediate action regarding the expansion of ICE and HSI operational influence within Canada. Specifically, it urges the Government of Canada to defend Canadian sovereignty, civil liberties, and democratic accountability by demanding that U.S. ICE and HSI agencies cease all current operational activities conducted from within American diplomatic and consular facilities in Canada, and by making clear — in no uncertain terms — that Canada will never negotiate expanded enforcement authorities or operational privileges for a rogue foreign agency increasingly associated internationally with deaths in custody, family separations, mass raids, civil-rights abuses, and allegations of operating with disregard for constitutional protections, due process, and democratic norms.
  2. 2
That it launch investigations and impose meaningful consequences against Canadian companies that knowingly enable ICE and U.S. Homeland Security operations through the provision of technology, detention services, surveillance infrastructure, transportation, logistics, communications, contracting, or other forms of operational support.
  3. 3
And finally, that the Federal Government introduce legislation requiring the divestment of Canadian public funds, pension funds, and government-linked investments from corporations — domestically or abroad — that materially support ICE and HSI operations, as Canadians do not appreciate being made unwitting accomplices, through their taxes and retirement savings, to agencies internationally associated with deaths in custody, family separations, prolonged detention practices, civil-rights controversies, and other serious allegations of abuse.
